The Wailers Trio

Title: The Wailers Trio
Medium: Acrylic paint on board
Dimensions: 80 x 60 cm (A1)
Date: Autumn 2006
Comments: The three founding members of the reggae band, The Wailers. From left to right: Bunny (“Wailer”) Livingston (born 1947), Robert Nesta Marley (1945-1981) and Peter McIntosh (1944-1987). Both as a group and as individuals, the Wailers were pioneering reggae artists who helped to spread the Rastafarian ideology through their music. The colours of the painting are inspired by the Ethiopian tricolour flag, which often symbolises the Rasta tradition.

Original painting: £145. Prints also available (up to size A2). Please
contact me for further details.
This painting is part of a series of portraits inspired by my love of reggae and Rastafarian culture. Please see also: Peter Tosh, Bim Sherman, Burning Spear and Rita Marley.
