Silhouette Paper-cut Art Workshop
Saturday 22nd May 2010, 10am - 4pm, Howden Park Centre, Livingston EH54 6AE

"Lois Cordelia will demonstrate and teach the basic techniques of her intricate paper-cut creations, and present a brief overview of the folk-art origins of this unusual medium. You will explore your own creativity in cutting spirited paper 'silhouettes' by hand, using a scalpel, balancing the blade's precision with free flowing lines. Lois will guide you through the evolving stages of design, drawing and cutting, encouraging you to experiment with elements of pattern, colour and texture, re-evaluating the humble piece of paper: no longer merely as a canvas, but as a medium in its own right. Create something extraordinary out of something ordinary."

"Excellent workshop giving a good grounding in the basics of
paper-cut silhouette art - more of these types of art events please!"

"Will use in future projects - really clear instructions."
